PAST
originally born & raised in southeastern Wisconsin, ashlyn spent a lot of her days memorizing sketches from the Best of Will Ferrell SNL DVD set, reenacting them for a captive audience (friends & family) whenever she could
she found her way to the storied Illinois State University School of Theatre and Dance, graduating with honors (Jean Scharfenberg Award, two time Kennedy Center Irene Ryan nominee)
she followed her heart to Chicago, where she made a second home for seven years as a fixture in the comedy community (iO Chicago, Second City, the Crowd Theater, SNL Showcase at iO, the Annoyance) and performed in festivals across the country (selected: Chicago Women’s Funny Fest, LA Scripted Comedy Fest, Out Of Bounds, Del Close Marathon)
she quickly acquired a ‘Must Join’ status and became a SAG-AFTRA member in Chicago doing episodic & commercial work (POPtv, NBC) and soon after she reached a personal milestone: working at Steppenwolf Theatre Company alongside artists such as David Rabe, Anna Shapiro, Debra Monk
she took two years away from her career to pursue further training at the Terry Knickerbocker Studio Conservatory (Meisner, Williamson Technique, Linklater, Neutral Mask, Clown, Devising) graduating August of 2023
PRESENT
she is in process for the premiere of Autumn Reveries written by Tyler Boettcher and directed by Gianna Rapp, playing A in Plato’s Device as part of the short play collection
September 27-28th at Polaris North, 7PM
FUTURE
ashlyn is currently developing a monthly variety show LAUGHING / CRYING (a processing show) - a themed comedy-cabaret show for artists to throw shit at the wall
