I began improvising and writing comedy my Senior Year of college. . .
When I co-wrote and played in a two hander sketch show titled Hannah and Ashlyn in Best! Show! Ever! (LA Scripted Comedy Festival, Freestage). From there, I took the money I received as part of the Jean Scharfenberg Award and immediately put it towards comedy writing classes at the Second City. Commuting to Chicago twice a week from a small town in Wisconsin while I saved money the summer after graduation.
While in Chicago, I interned at iO to help pay for improv classes and eventually graduated their program, landing on Harold teams such as Trash Daddiez, Shania, Bunk 7 and Duchess.
I co-founded an independent improv team Barbara Brice and we brought our signature form across the country (OOB, Del Close Marathon, San Diego Improv Festival, etc).
In solo sketch, I created the show Group Therapy which was featured at Chicago Women’s Funny Festival and played the SNL showcase at iO.
I’m a proud graduate of iO, Second City and the Annoyance.
